Five Geese Old Vine “The Pippali” Shiraz, crafted by Mike Farmilo from Blewitt Springs vineyards in McLaren Vale, South Australia, is an opulent expression of old-vine Shiraz. Fruit is dry-grown on deep sand over clay, from vines exceeding 50 years. Aromas of dark plum, black raspberry, aniseed and cocoa spice lead into a plush, full-bodied palate layered with black cherry, scorched earth complexity and mocha oak. Firm velvet tannins and balanced acidity provide structure, while anise-tinged spice and savoury weight offer length. Rich, refined and cellar-worthy. Pair with grilled ribeye or slow-roasted lamb.
