Garganega
Garganega is a white grape variety that doesn’t get nearly as much attention as it deserves, especially here in Australia where plantings are still small but promising. Originally from Italy’s Veneto region, home of the famous Soave wine. Garganega delivers wines that are medium to full-bodied, with bright aromas of wild flowers, lemon curd, nuts, honeydew melon and pear. It’s dry with a clean finish and medium acidity, making for a fresh but textured wine that’s surprisingly versatile.
