Mulline Modewarre Pinot Noir 2024 is a beautifully perfumed, medium-bodied wine from Mulline’s coolest and most coastal vineyard, the Brown Magpie Vineyard near Torquay on the Surf Coast. The wine is a blend of clones MV6, 777, 114, and 115, fermented with 40% whole bunches and matured in 25% new French oak. It shows intense aromas of brambly red fruits, rose bush, and warm spices, with a fine-grained tannin structure and bright acidity that gives lift and precision. The palate offers a balance of liquorice, savoury herbs, red cherry, and subtle graphite, delivering a long, classically structured finish. Philip Rich of Halliday Wine Companion awarded it 97 points, highlighting its complexity and ageing potential over the next decade or more. It’s regarded as Mulline’s most savoury and coastal Pinot Noir, with excellent detail and drinkability.
