Henri Prudhon Saint-Aubin Blanc “Le Ban” is a village-level Chardonnay from multiple hillside parcels in Saint-Aubin. Vines aged between 15-65 years, planted in clay-limestone soils with south-southeast exposure. No new oak is used; élevage is about 6-8 months in used barrels. It opens with aromas of ripe pear, white apple compote, wet stone and white flowers. The palate is generous, medium-bodied and precise, balanced by a fresh acidity and mineral undertones. The finish is clean, dry and nicely persistent. Scored 87 points by Burghound, this is a well-priced Burgundy white that pairs delightfully with poultry, soft cheeses or richer fish dishes.
