Battles Wines Granítis Shiraz 2023, by winemaker Lance Parkin & Kris Ambrozkiewicz, hails from the granite-rich vineyards of Christos Vineyard in Perth Hills, Western Australia. This third release offers lush dark berry and mulberry fruit – black plum, boysenberry – with a perfumed lift of violet and Middle Eastern spice. The wine is textured, with fine sandy tannins, well judged oak from seasoned French puncheons and a mineral backbone that reflects its rocky terroir. Clocking in at ~14% alcohol, it has vibrant acidity and generous structure. Notably, the Granítis Shiraz line has been awarded Shiraz of the Year (2020 vintage) by the Halliday Wine Companion.
