Battles Wines Frankland River Shiraz 2022, made by winemaker Lance Parkin in the cool-climate Frankland River sub-region of Western Australia, is a compelling, medium-weight red of great poise. Dark berry fruit – black cherry, plum and bramble – marries fine pepper spice, dark chocolate and an undercurrent of forest floor. The tannins are refined yet present, framing a mid-palate of earthy minerality and a hint of cool herb complexity. This vintage scored an estimated 95/100 on Wine-Searcher’s composite scale. Seamless and persistent, it will reward another 5-8 years of bottle development.
