This Chrismont La Zona Fiano, made by winemaker Warren Proft from fruit at Ciccone Vineyard in Cheshunt, displays pale straw with light green hues. The nose is aromatic, offering guava, lychee and nectarine, while the palate carries crisp flavours of lychee and pear with bright, lively acidity and a silky texture. About 30% is fermented in oak/acacia barrels, with regular lees stirring for richness, and a maturation period of six months before bottling. Alcohol of ~12.0% with minimal residual sugar (~0.1 g/L). Best now until about 2026. Sip with asparagus-and-pea risotto, lemon crème fraiche or roasted cherry tomatoes.
