Nick O’Leary Heywood Riesling 2024 (6 Bottles) Canberra
About this product
Nick O’Leary Heywood Riesling 2024 from the cool Canberra District is a dry, single‑site style that takes Nick’s signature precision up a notch – intensely citrusy, tightly coiled and made for people who love their Riesling with real drive. It is drawn from the Heywood vineyard and handled very gently to preserve purity.
In the glass, expect a pale, water‑white colour and aromatics of white flowers, apple blossom and citrus, layered over lime cordial, Granny Smith apple, lemon and a hint of nectar and beeswax complexity. The palate is powerful yet finely etched – a rush of Granny Smith, freshly squeezed lime and crunchy green apple, shot through with mouth‑watering natural acidity, chalky talc and steely mineral notes, leading to a long, pristine, dry finish.
Food‑wise, Nick O’Leary Heywood Riesling 2024 is built for oysters, kingfish crudo, Thai and Vietnamese salads, salt‑and‑pepper squid and anything with lime, chilli and herbs where its acidity slices cleanly through. It will also shine with pork belly, roast chicken with lemon and garlic or simply as an aperitif, and has the structure to cellar comfortably for 6–10 years as it develops more honeyed, toasty notes over time.
