A collaboration between Andrew Margan of the Hunter Valley and Ado Huesgen of the Mosel. Aiming to make an almost dry style, inspired by the great GG wines of the region. Ripe fruit with a wonderful strength of natural acidity.

“In 1991 when I was a young wine maker at Tyrrells here in the Hunter Valley I had the pleasure of working with a young German, Ado Huesgen, who had come to do the vintage. He was from an eighth generation wine making family based in the revered Mosel wine region. We stayed in touch over the decades and then in 2018 Lisa and I along with our children visited him and his family in Germany as part of a tour of European wine regions. Over a long lunch overlooking the famous Mosel River where Ado and his family live we decided we needed to make a wine together! So the next year Lisa and I headed back over and helped him hand harvest a small parcel of his distinguished Trabener Wurgarten vineyard. I headed into the winery and got the fermentation started. Ados’ viticultural expertise and my winemaking resulted in the first Huesgen & Margan Riesling. Here is the third one which Ollie helped us pick and make in Ados’ winery in the beautiful village of Traben-Trabach.”
