Larry Cherubino Laissez Faire Syrah (Larry Cherubino, Frankland River, Great Southern WA) is a striking single-varietal Syrah that epitomizes the “hands-off” philosophy. At 14.5% ABV, it’s been matured for 4 months in older French oak. The nose reveals black cherries, spice and baked earth, with undertones of slate mineral and gentle pepper. On the palate it’s richly textured, medium-full bodied with taut acidity and fine, polished tannins that lead to a lingering savoury finish. It won a Silver Medal at the 2023 Perth Royal Wine Awards. Perfect with grilled meats, game or bold vegetarian stews.
