Helen’s Hill Estate in Victoria’s Yarra Valley is a story of family, tradition, and singular dedication to crafting cool climate wines of premium quality. The estate was established in the late 1990s by the Nalder and McIntosh families, who transformed a neglected 150-acre piece of Coldstream pasture into one of the valley’s standout vineyards. The name “Helen’s Hill” honours Helen Fraser, the wife of a previous owner whose life and love of the land inspired the property’s legacy and heart.

The estate’s history is deeply entwined with a commitment to sustainable farming and innovative viticulture. Today, 110 acres are under vine, with diverse microclimates and soil types supporting varietals that thrive in the Yarra Valley’s unique terroir. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are Helen’s Hill’s star offerings - over 65 acres are dedicated to multiple Pinot clones and 16 acres to several notable Chardonnay clones. Small blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Grigio round out the portfolio.

Helen’s Hill Estate is proudly a Halliday Five Red Star winery, recognized for its focus on single-vineyard expressions and small-batch wines that consistently capture critical acclaim. Winemaker Scott McCarthy brings experience from leading regions around the world, contributing to the estate’s award-winning labels including the refined Helen’s Hill Estate range and the approachable Ingram Road series.
