Brothers at War The Old Man Eden Valley Syrah
Brothers at War The Old Man Eden Valley Syrah 2024 (6 Bottles) Eden Valley, SA
About this product
Brothers at War The Old Man Eden Valley Syrah 2024 from the Wardlaw brothers in Eden Valley bursts from the glass with bright, perfumed energy that feels utterly alive in the glass. This is a Syrah made in honour of their father, and you can taste that pride in the purity and lift of the fruit. 2024 The Old Man Eden Valley Syrah sits in that lovely space between Barossa generosity and cool–climate finesse.
In the glass you’ll find lifted violet and black cherry notes, backed by raspberry, plum and a lick of red berries, with spice threading through the mid–palate rather than shouting over it. Tannins are soft and powdery, the body medium with a fine, savoury line that keeps everything nicely poised. It drinks as a juicy, fruit–driven expression of Eden Valley with enough complexity to keep any serious Syrah drinker interested.
Food–wise, this is tailor–made for a weeknight lamb backstrap, charry grilled sausages or a wood–fired margherita with a bit of sopressa on top. It will also sing with roast chicken rubbed in thyme and garlic, or a mushroom ragù over fresh pappardelle if you’re keeping it veg. Serve The Old Man Syrah just off cellar temperature and it will absolutely charm a Barossa–loving crowd.
