Hochkirch Riesling 2023 is a biodynamic, organic Riesling from the Nagorcka family vineyard located in the Henty region of Victoria, Australia. The vineyard is planted on a north-facing slope, at about 250 meters elevation, with dry farming and no synthetic chemicals used. The wine shows pale yellow color with evident skin contact, expressing a sweet lemon and citrus nose alongside wet stone minerality. The palate offers sweet Riesling fruit layered over a dry, lively acid backbone, finishing with an engaging touch of noble phenolic bitterness. It features vibrant yellow citrus tang with distinct earthy and sappy complexity, making it a complex and elegant Riesling that can age well for 10-12 years. The wine is made with minimal intervention, using natural yeast fermentation, and is unfined and unfiltered.
