Grant Burge Shadrach Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a flagship Barossa cabernet, intensely purple in the glass with serious concentration and polish, sitting alongside Meshach as one of the estate’s top wines. It’s full‑bodied, powerful and built for long‑term cellaring, showcasing Eden Valley cabernet fruit in a warm, dry year.

Expect lifted leafy cassis, blackcurrant and plum wrapped in coffee bean, spearmint, tobacco leaf and dark mint chocolate, with background green leaf adding classic cabernet character. The palate delivers flavours of milk‑chocolate‑coated coffee beans, red berry fruit and subtle eucalypt, carried by fine, focused tannins and a long, graceful, persistent finish. It’s bold but beautifully balanced, with that choc‑mint Barossa cabernet signature.

This 2019 Shadrach is perfect with Chateaubriand, rib‑eye or roast beef with red wine jus and roasted vegetables, and will also sing with lamb rack or aged hard cheeses on a big night in. You can drink it now with a solid decant, but it really shines with careful cellaring for 5–15 years at a cool, steady temperature.
