Château Massereau Cuvée K 2011 from Bordeaux Supérieur is one of those quietly serious reds – dark, savoury and old‑school – with brambly fruit, cedar and earthy complexity that feels tailor‑made for a proper meal rather than a quick glass. This Chateau Massereau Cuvee K 2011 comes from organically farmed vines and is made with a light touch, so you’re tasting pure Bordeaux character rather than flashy winemaking tricks. It is fully in its drinking window now, offering maturity without feeling tired.
In the glass you’ll find blackcurrant, blackberry and plum layered with cedar, graphite, cigar box and a gentle eucalyptus lift that screams classic claret. The palate is medium‑plus in body, dry and savoury, with dark fruit and earthy notes framed by fine yet still present tannins and fresh acidity. Those secondary tones of leather and tobacco are starting to show nicely, adding real depth.
Food‑wise, Château Massereau Cuvée K 2011 is a natural with roast lamb, grass‑fed steak or beef daube, where its structure and savoury edge bite into rich sauces and fat. It also works beautifully with mushroom‑based dishes and aged hard cheeses for a more rustic, bistro‑style spread. Pour it just below room temperature and give it a short decant to let the aromatics open up properly.
