About this product
Vinden Wines Chardonnay 2023 from the Hunter Valley is a refined, modern expression sourced from Somerset Vineyard and Oakey Creek’s Bonvilla block, handpicked and fermented in large‑format French and Austrian oak for purity, texture and balance. It sits around 12.5–13% alc, with minimal sulphites and a gently creamy feel.
In the glass, Vinden Wines Chardonnay 2023 shows citrus, white peach and lemon blossom with hints of hazelnut/almond, brioche and subtle toast from barrel ferment and bâtonnage. The palate is bright and focused, marrying orchard fruit and lively acidity with a silky, leesy mid‑palate, integrated oak and a long, mineral‑tinged finish that feels both elegant and moreish.
On the table it is spot on with roast chicken and thyme, buttery seared scallops, grilled fish with lemon, creamy mushroom pasta or prawn risotto, where the wine’s citrus lift, stone fruit and creamy texture lock in beautifully with richer sauces and seafood. Serve lightly chilled, not icy, to let the fruit and oak complexity shine in a relaxed Australian setting.
