Haddow + Dineen Bull in the Heather Pinot Noir 2024 from Tasmania’s Coal River Valley is a rich, savoury, small‑batch Pinot Noir sourced from a tiny, carefully farmed vineyard and made with a distinctly hands‑on, lo‑fi mindset. Hand‑picked fruit, 50% whole bunch, wild ferment and bottling without fining or filtration give Bull in the Heather serious aromatic lift, texture and individuality.

In the glass it is flush with ripe plum, dark cherry and pomegranate, with raspberry‑pip brightness, layers of exotic spice, gingerbread, amaro, dried citrus rind, game and earthy, undergrowth complexity. The palate is pure yet sinewy, driven by bright acidity and fine, structural tannins that keep it savoury, long and food‑centric rather than just fruity.

On the table, Haddow + Dineen Bull in the Heather Pinot Noir 2024 is made for roast duck, lamb rump, game birds, mushroom dishes, chargrilled vegetables and aged hard cheeses, where its spice, gamey nuance and firm line cut through richness beautifully. Serve it just below room temperature to emphasise perfume and detail, and expect it to evolve gracefully over the mid‑term in cellar.
