Cape Mentelle Wallcliffe Merlot Petit Verdot Malbec, crafted by the Margaret River estate’s winemaking team, is a commanding Bordeaux-inspired blend (54% Merlot, 26% Petit Verdot, 20% Malbec). Deep crimson with garnet hues, it opens with aromas of black plum, mulberry, violet and cedar. The palate is richly layered, delivering dark berries, mocha and savoury herbs framed by fine, firm tannins and subtle French oak spice, underpinned by coastal minerality. Aged 16 months in 50% new French oak, it shows both power and finesse. Awarded 95 points by James Halliday and Erin Larkin, with 14.5% alcohol and screwcap closure.
