Carrick ‘The Magnetic’ Pinot Noir, masterfully made by Carrick’s winemaker at their organic estate in Bannockburn, Central Otago, New Zealand. Sourced from a single block and single Abel clone (smuggled from Burgundy!), hand-picked and wild-fermented, the wine spent 28 days on skins before 9 months’ ageing in barrels (15% new oak). The bouquet exudes wild thyme, sage, blackcurrant, cherry, and dried raspberry with earthy oak complexity. On the palate, polished tannins frame plum, raspberry, cherry and subtle savoury spice, delivering finesse, structure, and age-worthy depth. Aged to perfection, it earned 96 points from Cameron Douglas MS and promises maturity between 2026 and 2036+.
