Carrick Bannockburn Chardonnay 2018  expertly made by Carrick’s estate team in Bannockburn, Central Otago, New Zealand. Hand-picked from some of the oldest organic Chardonnay vines (Mendoza and Clone 6), the wine was fermented wild and matured 12 months in French oak barriques (13% new), then rested a further nine months in vat before release. In the glass, it offers toasted brioche, citrus peel and marmalade aromas framed by weight and balance. The palate is full-bodied and creamy, with stone-fruit richness, fine acidity, oak nuance and a long, graceful finish. Awarded 93 points by Cameron Douglas MS, this is a classic, expressive Central Otago Chardonnay with power, precision and refinement.
