Grey Sands Pinot Noir 2012, Grey Sands Vineyard, Tamar Valley, Tasmania shows elegant maturity with savoury complexity. The colour is mid‑red with garnet hues. On the nose are preserved cherries, dried herbs and fine oak with earthy undergrowth and faint spice. The palate begins with sweet cherry, then reveals a tight structure held by crisp acidity and fine grain tannins. The finish is long, dry and savoury. It received 96 points from Patrick Eckel.
