Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2021, from Ata Rangi in Martinborough, NZ, is helmed by winemaker Helen Masters and represents some of the estate’s oldest Pinot Noir plantings on the dry stony Martinborough terrace. Deep crimson-red in colour, its bouquet features dark cherry, red plum, wild strawberry, with spice (cardamom, pink peppercorn), forest floor and herbal notes. The palate is richly concentrated, yet supported by fine-grained, gravelly tannins, bright acidity, and a minerally undercurrent. It’s medium-to-full bodied and long-finishing.
