The 2022 Rusden “Boundaries” Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted by Mark Rusden in the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, is a beautifully composed cool‑climate Cabernet. Aromas of cassis, graphite, dried herb and cedar lift seamlessly from the glass. Medium-bodied and focused, the palate offers blackcurrant, dark plum and tobacco-spice layers framed by fine-grained tannins and crisp acidity. A sliver of chalky mineral seam underpins the structure through to a poised, savoury finish. Lightly oaked and minimally handled, it balances elegance with depth. While formal scores aren’t yet available, early observations highlight its refinement, regional purity and exceptional food‑friendly appeal.
