Our third Rosé is a brilliant pale salmon colour. The intense aromas are reminiscent of crushed strawberries and orange blossom. It has a savoury yet smooth palate with some texture at the finish, and a long lingering aftertaste. The wine was conceived more as a pink red wine than a rose-tinged white; it relies on phenolics for structure rather than being an acid-driven, just-done rosé. It’s dry and fresh and leans towards texture and savouriness. – Sandra de Pury
Plenty to love here. All the freshness, crunch, and red fruit aroma you’d want out of an Aussie Rosé, plus an intriguing lean towards savouriness and texture. The fruit comes from Yeringberg’s own estate-grown and over twenty-year-old vines, with the Shiraz getting a whole bunch pressing before fermentation in stainless and six months of maturation in oak. The Cabernet gets the same ageing treatment, but is crushed without whole bunches.
More of a pinkish red than a white-turned-rosé, worthy of both the dinner table as well as weekend quaffing.
