It’s a smooth delivery of fine-boned flavour here, a little saline, and I really like that almond character in the wine, fine chalk dust texture, some lime and lemon oil, flecks of green things, with a nutty finish of excellent length. Tasting Notes: Aromas of river pebble, camomile, lemon balm, ripe grapefruit skin and beeswax candle. On the palate there is beautiful density, ripe citrus with white peach, oatmeal, and lively acidity. The phenolic (typical of this site) offers great structure adding to the complexity of this Chardonnay.

Winemaking Notes: Hand-picked on the 25th of February

Vinification & Elevage: Fruit was whole bunch pressed directly to French Oak barriques (30% new) for primary fermentation without malolactic conversion for stirring. 10 months on lees in oak. 200 dozen produced.

The fruit for this single vineyard Chardonnay is grown on our Briarty Road vineyard in Gruyere. 2021 was a prolonged, classical season allowing for brilliant definition of flavour across our range.
