Deep red colour with purple hues. This wine has intense and vibrant white pepper, raspberry and cherry aromas and flavours, typical of Northern Rhone Valley Syrah of France. The palate is subtle, complex and long due to a perfect natural acidity and velvety tannic structure.

It is a perfect example of cool climate Canberra District Syrah. It has been aged in French oak barriques (10% new) for 16 months before filtration and bottling. No fining.

The Syrah grapes have been grown in our 50 years old Cullarin Vineyard, established by Dr Edgar Riek in 1971.

They were hand-picked first week of April, fully destemmed with a high proportion of whole berries and fermented in stainless steel tanks with a selected yeast to dryness.

The wine was then put into one to 3 years old French barriques to undergo the malolactic fermentation and aged for 16 months in the same barriques. The wine was sterile filtered before bottling. No fining.
