Chard Farm Mata-Au Pinot Noir, crafted by Chard Farm in the Lowburn & Parkburn sub-regions of Central Otago, New Zealand. Bob Campbell MW awarded it 95 points, calling it “tantalisingly pure… fresh cherry, red-rose petal and sweet plum flavours… a silken-textured wine that delivers power with great subtlety”. Cameron Douglas MS also scored 94, praising its “vibrant, intense… flinty mineral core and dark roses” along with layered spice, firm tannins and length. On the palate, expect refined red-berry and dried-herb complexity, toasty oak spice, balanced acidity and a lingering, poised finish. A sumptuous, terroir-expressive Pinot-elegant, textured and utterly compelling.
