This year’s Little Red is a blend of 32% Muscat (from 20-year-old vines, at Dowie Doole in the McLaren Vale), 22% Riesling (from 30-year-old vines at Koop Creek in the Eden Valley), 18% Cabernet Franc (from Sellicks Hill in McLaren Vale) and 28% Petit Verdot (from Langhorne Creek).

All varieties were vinified separately: the Muscat spent one day on skins before being pressed to stainless steel tank; the Riesling had two days on skins before being pressed to stainless steel and later racked to barrel; the Cabernet Franc was 100% destemmed and fermented to dryness on skins before being pressed to French oak; and finally, the Petit Verdot was completely destemmed, fermented to three Baumé and pressed to barrel.
