Anselmi Capitel Croce, from Roberto Anselmi’s Monteforte d’Alpone estate in Veneto (IGT Veneto), this 100% Garganega wine is aged in Allier barriques, then refined on lees. It displays a warm straw-gold hue and unfolds aromas of Meyer lemon, baked apple, nectarine, honey and almond meal, with notes of preserved lemon and marzipan adding delicious intrigue. On the palate, it is creamy yet impeccably balanced by tight, refreshing acidity. Awarded three red glasses by Gambero Rosso and 96 points from xtrawine, it earned 95 points from Jeni Port (Winepilot) for its depth and finesse. A polished, food-friendly white – superb with pasta or poultry.
