Elderton Cabernet Sauvignon, from premium vineyards in the Barossa Valley, is a benchmark example of the region’s ability to craft powerful yet refined Cabernet. The bouquet opens with lifted aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry and mulberry, complemented by hints of tobacco leaf, cedar and graphite. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with concentrated black fruits framed by fine, savoury tannins and well-judged oak. A long, elegant finish carries notes of dark chocolate and spice. Regularly acclaimed with Halliday scores in the mid-90s, this Cabernet shows both approachability in youth and excellent cellaring potential.
