Dense in both colour and fruit. The nose is all about black cherry and dark plum, with some black liquorice and black olive. The palate follows suit making me think of tinned black cherry or the richness that comes from baking them. There is a touch of mint on the palate too and the spiciness comes to the fore on the finish. At 14.5% abv not a wine for the faint hearted – or indeed faint hearted food!
