Willow Bridge Rosa De Solana 2022 (6 Bottles) Geographe, WA

The Willow Bridge rosa de solana highlights the purity and vibrancy of the Tempranillo grape.
A wonderful array of fresh fruit flavour, scented spice and intense palate punch, suited to the Spring and Summer months!
Very pale pink colour, lifted aromatics of strawberry cream and turkish delight, with fresh raspberry in the background. Flavoursome palate, loads of berry fruits with a gentle hint of orange peel zest and a chalky texture.
Estate grown from the spectacular hillside vineyard in the Ferguson Valley of the Geographe wine region, fruit is sourced from our Cameron block which were planted in 2009. Soil is typically a deep layer of ironstone gravelly loam over red and yellow friable clay with slight westerly aspects at elevations of 220 to 250m above sea level.
Minimal time on skins allows for a pale pink colour and less phenolic extract as juice is drained to a fermenter for settling and racking. Cold fermentation retains the fresh crushed red fruits prior to racking, filtration and early bottling.
Winemaker Notes
An unconventional vintage, 2021 was challenging. A cooler lead up into the season, especially compared to previous vintages, meant bigger canopies and a later start. Yields however were low and became a blessing in disguise as 200mm of rain fell across 80 days during peak grape ripening. A late season rain event caused by cyclone activity in early April spelt the end of vintage as winemakers scurried to get remaining grapes into the winery.
