About this product
Vino Intrepido Blood of My Blood Sangiovese 2023 is a rich, confidently Italianate red from Vino Intrepido in Heathcote, crafted by James Scarcebrook for serious drinking now or later. This is Australian Sangiovese with muscle and precision, packing dark fruit, savoury detail and proper tannin into a beautifully composed frame.
Black cherry, plum and cola flow through earthy notes, sun-dried tomato, bramble, clove, black spice and cured meat. The palate is powerful yet finely tuned, driven by long, ball-bearing tannins and bright energy that dries the finish neatly. Vino Intrepido Blood of My Blood 2023 is fragrant, structured and compellingly savoury.
Pair this Heathcote Sangiovese with slow-cooked lamb ragu, grilled pork sausages, eggplant parmigiana or a classic margherita topped with prosciutto. Its acidity and tannin slice through tomato-rich sauces and fatty meats brilliantly. Give it a short decant now, or cellar it for several years as the savoury layers grow deeper.
