Yarra Yering Dry Red Wine No. 2 2024 is a beautifully poised Yarra Valley Shiraz from Yarra Yering, with a tiny splash of Viognier lending fragrant lift to its old-vine intensity. This 99% Shiraz blend is complex, savoury and finely built, delivering the sort of cool-climate detail serious collectors chase.
Violets, raspberry, plum and bramble rise with five spice, black olive, cedar, cardamom and dark licorice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, carrying all-colours-of-summer-pudding fruit through sinewy tannins, lively acidity and a savoury, dry spice finish. Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 2024 is powerful yet graceful, with plenty more to give.
Serve this Yarra Valley Shiraz with slow-roasted lamb, duck breast with cherry sauce, wild mushroom ragù or pepper-crusted venison. Its savoury spice and firm structure thrive alongside roasted, earthy flavours, while the vibrant fruit keeps richer dishes from feeling heavy. Decant for an hour now, or cellar confidently for 15 to 20 years.
