Warramate Chardonnay 2024 (12 Bottles) Yarra Valley, VIC
About this product
Lemon verbena and crisp pear flesh shine alongside white nectarine in this Warramate Chardonnay 2024, a complex expression from Sarah Crowe blending four clones including 38% Yarra Yering old vine, 26% Bernard 95, 22% clone 124 and 14% clone 548. Whole bunch pressed with hard pressings included for weight and phenolic grip, the wine ferments on light solids before nine months in French oak with just 10% new. Rated 5 Stars by Halliday Wine Companion, this beautifully balanced Chardonnay delivers serious complexity at excellent value.
Richly textured and soft with lovely stonefruit generosity, the palate shows bright grapefruit acidity that tightens and refreshes. A subtle oak influence sits nicely in the background supporting the fruit profile, while a mineral-lemon freshness and pithy texture create a long lingering finish. Medium-bodied with oak tannin adding structure, this serious Chardonnay balances barrel fermentation texture with ultimate refreshment.
Grilled fish with lemon butter, roast chicken or creamy seafood risotto pair beautifully where the bright acidity and stonefruit generosity enhance rich preparations perfectly. Try it with fresh oysters or soft cheeses – enjoy now or cellar carefully for up to five years.
