Yarra Yering Underhill Shiraz 2024 is a brooding yet polished cool-climate Shiraz from Yarra Yering’s revered Underhill block in the Yarra Valley. It packs serious intensity into a medium-bodied frame, with glossy fruit, savoury complexity and the sort of fine structure that marks a cellar-worthy Australian red.
Blueberry, boysenberry and blackcurrant meet ripe black plum, graphite, charcuterie, black pepper and smoky charred oak. The palate is compact and tightly coiled, with a subtle stalky grip and lifted spice giving shape to the persistent dark fruit. Yarra Yering Underhill Shiraz 2024 is mysterious, savoury and beautifully composed.
Pair this Yarra Valley Shiraz with rosemary lamb rump, chargrilled venison, duck with black cherries or a slow-braised beef cheek. Its peppery edge and fine tannin structure thrive beside smoky, roasted flavours, while the dark fruit brings generosity to richer dishes. Decant for an hour, or cellar it for a decade plus.
