Jaya SGM 2022
Jaya SGM 2022 (12 Bottles) Barossa Valley, SA
Jaya SGM 2022 from the Barossa Valley is a vibrant, medium‑bodied Shiraz–Grenache–Mataro blend that delivers plenty of flavour without feeling heavy, leaning into juicy fruit, spice and smooth structure. The blend sits at 55% Shiraz, 36% Grenache and 9% Mataro, each variety picked and fermented separately with natural yeasts, about 15% whole bunch and six months in seasoned hogsheads to keep oak in the background. On the nose you get dark cherries, dark plum and blueberry with violet lift, mixed spice and subtle, complex oak notes.
The palate is silky and smooth, packed with juicy red fruits over deeper dark fruits, with crisp acidity and pleasant, fine tannins that give it line and chew without weight. Those three varieties feel in harmony – Grenache bringing brightness, Shiraz depth and Mataro savoury spice – making Jaya SGM 2022 a very versatile Barossa red at the table.
With its combination of dark fruit, spice and fresh structure, it works beautifully with grilled steaks, lamb chops, roast meats, sausages or a rich mushroom and lentil bake, where the acidity and tannins cut through richness and the fruit really opens up. Vegan‑friendly and neatly polished, it’s a smart choice if you want a Barossa blend that feels generous, smooth and food‑ready rather than dense or overdone.
