About this product
Chapelle de Potensac 2018, the second wine of Château Potensac in the Médoc, is a refined left‑bank Bordeaux that delivers ripe black fruit, velvety tannins and freshness in a seriously classy yet approachable package. Crafted mainly from Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc on classic clay‑limestone soils, it’s designed to drink beautifully earlier than the grand vin while still offering real depth.
In the glass, Chapelle de Potensac 2018 shows deep garnet colour and a nose of blackberry, black raspberry, cassis and ripe plum, laced with leafy herbs, pepper, cedar, tobacco and a subtle earthy, mushroomy edge. The palate is full‑bodied but superbly balanced – juicy dark berries, blackcurrant and plum glide over silky, elegant tannins and vibrant acidity, with notes of licorice, baking spice and gentle oak leading into a fresh, fruit‑laden finish. It’s savoury, polished and already delicious, yet has the structure to improve over the next 5–8 years.
