Praeter Langhe Nebbiolo

Praeter Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 is a beautifully detailed Piedmont red from Praeter, made from 100% whole-bunch Nebbiolo grown in the Drucá vineyard within the Barolo commune. Declassified to Langhe Nebbiolo, it puts perfume, finesse and fine tannin front and centre – a seriously elegant expression with real Barolo pedigree.

Red cherry, rose and dried herbs lift from the glass, edged with classic tar, spice and a subtle chocolate note. The 2023 Praeter Langhe Nebbiolo is pale but concentrated, with sweet dark-cherry fruit, bright acidity and a beautifully even, fine-grained tannin line that carries the palate long and savoury.

Serve Praeter Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 with porcini risotto, tajarin with ragù, roast duck or slow-braised beef cheeks. Its fragrance and tannin are also superb with truffle dishes, grilled mushrooms and aged Parmigiano Reggiano. Decant briefly, use a large glass and let this graceful Italian red stretch out.
