About this product
Icardi Montubert Barbaresco DOCG 2021 is a beautifully traditional Nebbiolo from the Icardi family in Piedmont, delivering Barbaresco’s trademark perfume, savoury depth and firm, graceful structure. Organic, biodynamic and vegan, this is a serious Italian red with plenty of charm now and the bones to evolve gracefully.
Intense garnet with classic orange flashes, it opens on violets, dried rose, strawberry and cherry, then moves into cedar, warm spice and earthy savoury notes. The palate is dry, robust and refined, with bright acidity and persistent, pleasantly chewy tannins. Icardi Montubert Barbaresco 2021 has poise, perfume and proper Nebbiolo drive.
Bring this Barbaresco DOCG to braised beef, porcini risotto, truffle pasta, wild mushroom dishes or slow-roasted lamb. Its tannins love protein and its fragrant savouriness sings alongside earthy flavours. Give it a good decant if opening young, or lay it down for a few years to see its complexity deepen.
