Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc
Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (12 Bottles) Marlborough, NZ
About this product
Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc 2023 by Kevin Judd from Marlborough is a seriously classy, oak‑aged sauvignon – think chardonnay‑lover’s savvy with wild ferment complexity and a lush, textural feel. This 2023 Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc lifts out rock melon, ginger, lime zest and toasted coconut, layered over lemon curd, tangelo, shortbread, almond and a touch of smoked tea and tarragon.
On the palate it’s expansive and full‑flavoured – ripe stone fruit, citrus and blood orange sit in a creamy, mealy texture, wrapped around chalky oyster‑shell notes and flinty, smoked‑sea‑salt minerality. The wine is dry but rich, multi‑dimensional and long, fermented and aged in older French oak with wild yeasts, giving serious depth and a savoury, lingering finish.
I’d be lining Greywacke Wild Sauvignon Blanc 2023 up with roast chicken, pork loin, creamy seafood pasta or hake en papillotte, as well as strong goat’s cheese and roasted vegetable bakes. It’s a brilliant option if you love Marlborough sauvignon blanc but want more texture, oak complexity and cellar‑worthy structure.
