Devotus Reserve Pinot Noir 2024 (12 Bottles) Martinborough, NZ
About this product
Devotus Reserve Pinot Noir 2024 from the tiny Devotus single vineyard on the Martinborough Terrace is a profoundly concentrated, old‑vine pinot – the deepest, most powerful expression of this three‑hectare site. Devotus Reserve 2024 comes off the oldest blocks, giving brooding dark cherry, sour cherry, black plum and blackcurrant, layered with violet, dried rose, baking spice, iodine, graphite and warm, ferrous earth.
On the palate it’s intense yet ethereal – long sour‑cherry acidity, dense dark fruit, savoury undergrowth, fine cocoa‑dust tannins and a layered, velvety texture that melts into a soft, haunting finish. Farming is organic with biodynamic influence and yields are tiny; wild ferments in small tanks and long élevage in top‑end French oak barriques give seamless integration and serious cellar potential well beyond a decade.
I’d be lining Devotus Reserve Pinot Noir 2024 up with roast venison, lamb shoulder, game birds, truffle dishes, mushroom ragù or aged Comté and Gruyère. With fewer than 188 cases and allocations snapped up on release, it’s firmly in collectible territory – a reference‑point, single‑site Martinborough pinot for serious Burgundy and NZ pinot collectors alike.
