Devotus Pinot Noir 2024 (12 Bottles) Martinborough, NZ
About this product
Devotus Pinot Noir 2024 from the tiny Devotus single vineyard on the Martinborough Terrace is a dark‑fruited, low‑intervention pinot with real presence – concentrated, brooding and very site‑true. This 2024 Devotus Pinot Noir opens with flinty, smoky lift over plum, blackcurrant and black cherry, plus hints of violet, thyme, graphite and warm earth from those stony terrace soils.
On the palate it’s rich, round and almost beastly for Martinborough – dense dark cherry, plum and cassis framed by soft but persistent tannins and a savoury, mineral‑driven core. The style is low‑intervention and organic in spirit: hand‑tended three‑hectare site, wild ferments, gentle extraction and French oak maturation, giving depth and length without polish getting in the way of terroir, and promising 8–12 years in the cellar.
I’d be lining Devotus Pinot Noir 2024 up with roast lamb, game birds, beef fillet, rich mushroom dishes or slow‑cooked pork and veal, plus truffled mash or aged hard cheeses. It’s extremely limited – often one bottle per person – and is firmly in collectible, fine‑wine territory for anyone chasing powerful yet site‑pure Martinborough pinot noir.
