Smallfry Barossa Jellyfish Grenache
Smallfry Barossa Jellyfish Grenache 2024 (6 Bottles) Eden Valley, SA
About this product
Smallfry Barossa Jellyfish Grenache 2024 by Smallfry Wines in the Barossa is a wildly drinkable, light‑bodied Grenache from 40‑year‑old vines, made to be chilled and smashed with friends rather than cellared and pondered. It continues the Jellyfish idea of capturing vibrant vineyard fruit in a playful, low‑fi frame – minimal sulphur, crown seal, plenty of personality.
In the glass, Jellyfish Grenache 2024 is bright red‑purple, deeper than a rosé but very much in the “light red” camp. Expect a juicy pop of blueberries and red berries, strawberries and crunchy red cherry, woven with light herbal notes and that faint graphite / earth twist that keeps things interesting. The palate has a touch of fruit sweetness up front then flips dry, with very soft, lacy, chalky tannins and a refreshing, stony finish – “like licking a bluestone” as an earlier release was described – all at a deceptively moderate weight.
Food‑wise, Jellyfish Grenache 2024 is built for the esky and the BBQ: think wood‑fired pizza, grilled sausages, burgers, charcuterie or a simple roast chook. It will also work beautifully with Mediterranean salads, antipasto, tacos and picnic fare, making it one of those Barossa reds you can pour all year round, especially with a light chill on a warm day.
