About this product
Otherness Urth Riesling 2024 from Clare Valley’s Polish Hill River is a finely textured, barrel‑influenced Riesling that layers floral perfume and spice over a classic slate‑mineral, lime‑driven core.
Urth Riesling 2024 shows scents of gardenia, Belladonna lily and jasmine alongside lime zest, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger – a mix of pretty florals and warm spice sitting over taut citrus. On the palate it’s dry and acid‑driven, with that Polish Hill lime and green apple carried on a fine, chalky mineral line, the 40% wild barrel ferment adding weight, texture and a gentle savoury edge without losing clarity.
As an Adelaide‑based sommelier, I’d be pouring Otherness Urth Riesling 2024 with kingfish ceviche, citrus‑dressed salads or grilled whiting, where its florals, lime and mineral cut can really shine. It’s also outstanding with lightly spiced Asian dishes, fresh cheeses and shellfish – an adventurous Clare Riesling for drinkers who enjoy texture and a bit of aromatic complexity.
