Otherness Harmonica Aglianico, Montepulciano 2022 from the Barossa Valley is a dark, savoury Italian‑inspired red crafted by Craig Stansborough that brings serious flavour without the heaviness. This Harmonica Aglianico Montepulciano 2022 blends 61% Aglianico with 39% Montepulciano, giving a deep, inky colour and aromas of black cherry, blood plum and mulberry, layered with dried herbs, black tea, dark chocolate and a little earth and leather for complexity. On the palate it’s powerful yet controlled, with flowing black and blue fruits, mouth‑watering acidity and those naturally firm, long, chewy tannins Aglianico is famous for, softened and rounded by the juicier, plusher Montepulciano component.

It’s a brilliant Barossa food wine – think slow‑braised lamb shanks, osso buco, grilled rosemary lamb cutlets, rich tomato‑based pasta, wood‑fired pizza or chargrilled vegetables with plenty of olive oil and herbs. Expect it to cellar beautifully for 5–10 years as the tannins melt and the savoury notes deepen.
