This wine combines 85% Mencía with 15% Alicante Bouschet and some white grape varieties from the estate’s old field blend. It has an intense bouquet of cherries, pomegranates, violets, and complex herbal notes with a fresh, juicy palate. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky, with a pleasant lactic texture, balanced acidity, and a fresh, rounded finish featuring subtle ash and spice. Wild fermented with 20% whole clusters and matured for 16 months in large oak vats, this wine pairs perfectly with duck, pork barbecue ribs, or rich pasta dishes. It’s a balanced, expressive example offering excellent depth and drinkability.
