Blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry form the core, lifted by violet, black pepper, liquorice, smoked meat and cocoa. Laurent Combier Clos des Grives is full-bodied and concentrated, with plush dark fruit, fine silky tannins and a fresh saline line that brings tension and length to the spicy finish.

Decant this Crozes-Hermitage Syrah for an hour and serve with chargrilled rib-eye, herb-crusted lamb rack, duck breast or porcini risotto.
