This 2024 Giant Steps LDR Pinot Noir Syrah blend (about 68% pinot, 32% syrah) comes off Sexton and Tarraford, all hand–picked, wild–fermented and bottled unfined and unfiltered for maximum purity.

In the glass you’re looking at brambly red fruits, wild strawberry and cherry, with rose petals, black pepper, a flicker of dried herbs and a gentle whole–bunch lift from the carbonic syrah. The palate is light to medium–bodied, juicy and bright, packed with crunchy red fruits, spice and fine–knit, silky tannins, finishing dry, fresh and dangerously easy to pour another glass. It’s designed to be drunk young, even slightly chilled, but has the balance to hold nicely for three to four years.

On the table, this is a cracking match for charcuterie, BBQ chook, pork sausages or a mushroom and herb pizza, where its lift, spice and freshness really sing.
