Gardner’s Vineyard Riesling 2014 (6 Bottles) Eyre Peninsula, SA
About this product
Gardner’s Vineyard Riesling 2014 from the undulating hills just north of Port Lincoln is a cracking dry Eyre Peninsula Riesling, bright, coastal and seriously refreshing in the glass. This Gardner’s Vineyard Riesling 2014 has clearly turned heads, scooping 4.5 stars and a huge 97 points from Winestate and running equal‑top in its category for Wine of the Year 2021. It’s a standout bottle from this tiny estate.
The wine shows an attractive floral and lime bouquet – think citrus blossom and fresh‑squeezed lime – leading into a palate with impressive length and drive. It’s bone‑dry, finely structured and powered by crisp, zesty acidity that keeps everything tight and mouth‑watering. At 12.5% alcohol it feels light on its feet yet intense in flavour, built firmly in the classic, age‑worthy Australian Riesling mould.
This is a natural match for freshly shucked oysters, prawns, grilled whiting or classic fish and chips, where that piercing acidity cuts through salt and oil beautifully. It will also sing with Vietnamese salads, Thai dishes with lime and herbs, or a simple goat’s cheese tart. Drink it now for pure citrus zip or cellar a few bottles to watch those toasty, honeyed Riesling complexities build over the coming years.
